Her body was a flame. She could feel the last of her strength draining, unwilling muscles slackening. With a final, pitiful swipe the hulking mass collapsed with a sudden rush of metallic crashes. Aching in every fiber, she threw aside the heaps of majestic cloth until she lay breathless, clutching the dented scraps of the crown. With the last of her resolve she lowered its broken circle over her bloodied head. She felt nothing.
